Alan Carr, the flamboyant comedian, TV and radio presenter talks about how he first became a stand-up...

Starting with a stand-up module at university, the star says he had  "nerves so bad it was coming out of both ends!"

Carr was told by a gypsy fortune teller that he'd make his money doing stand-up.

"I went 'no way love, no way.' She said, 'you've got a great sense of humour' and as she went to sit down I pulled the chair away."

Available now on DVD: Alan Carr – Spexy Beast Live

Now with an even bigger public profile, Alan regales tales of how his life has changed during the past few years – from the perils of being recognised in the street and meeting botoxed guests on Chatty Man, to being a proud pet owner of Bev the ‘mental’ Red Setter, and the trials and tribulations of his move to London from Stretford, Manchester.
