Researchers in Australia have renamed a rare breed of horse fly after the Crazy in Love star and her famous behind.
Scaptia (Plinthina) Beyoncae, a rare type of horse fly, has been named after the former Destiny’s Child singer for a particular reason, as Bryan Lessard, from Australia’s science agency CSIRO, explains: “It was the unique dense golden hairs on the fly’s abdomen that led me to name this fly in honour of the performer Beyonce, as well as giving me the chance to demonstrate the fun side of taxonomy – the naming of species.”
Beyonce herself has just given birth to her first child, Blue Ivory Carter, with husband Jay-Z.
Her daughter has alos become the youngest person to be credited on the Billboard chart in the US.
