It has been a great 12 months for Stormzy, which was rewarded at London’s O2 Arena by winning 2 BRIT Awards at the 2018 bash.

The Grime singer stole the show in the capital to take Best Male Solo and followed it up by winning Album of The Year for Gang Signs and Prayer.

Taking to the podium to accept the award, Stormzy said “I’ve never worked on something like this in my life. We made something I feel that is undeniable, that I can stand by today.”

Dua Lipa, who in her teens spent time in Kosovo with her family, before returning to England, was nominated for 5 Brits, and was delighted to take Best Female Solo and Best Breakthrough Act.

“Here’s to more women on these stages, more women winning awards and more women taking over the world,” she told the crowd.

Although, this years Brit Awards was low on controversy, political statements were made by Stormzy, and a slightly tipsy Damon Albarn, as he picked up the gong for Best British Group with Gorillaz.

Liam Gallagher performed a gorgeous performance of Live Forever, in respect of the Manchester Arena explosion last year, whilst Kendrick Lamar had most of his song ‘bleeped’ on TV, which featured a car being smashed on stage.

The ceremony began with Justin Timberlake fresh from his Superbowl sing-a-along, before he headed off to the Camden Roundhouse for 2 gigs in one night.
