This weekend (September 26 and 27)is likely to be one of the busiest Birmingham has as Villa Park hosts two Rugby World Cup matches on Saturday and Sunday. We’ve put this short guide together with the top five city highlights to help keep you occupied before and after the games.

Grand Prix Karting

Adrenalin junkies will be satisfied with Grand Prix karting. Choose between 4 action packed circuits and jump behind the wheel of a state of the art racing kart. All equipment is provided and expect a safety briefing. They won’t let you race if you’re drunk.

Cadbury World

Chocolate lovers are going to love it here, 14 different zones to explore including activities for adults, so you can get away from screaming children. You can even create your own chocolate if you have the urge.

Canals

Take a leisurely stroll along the canals if could do with a break. It’s a great place to relax, let go and stop for a pint at one of the canal side pubs when that bloated feeling has gone. Head for Brindley Place if you’d like to take a short cruise.

Shopping

One for the ladies, Birmingham is a shopaholic’s paradise. There’s the Jewellery Quarter, large malls at the Bull Ring and New Street with its high street fashion stores.

Drinking

Broad Street is the liveliest area to head for a late night drink. The1/2 mile road is home solely to nothing but bars and clubs.  Broad Street is a mecca for stag and hen nights, it tends to be lively and is littered with police. Some bars have an over 21 policy, but you won’t have any problems finding somewhere to go as long as you’re 18.
