Working in Ireland
There's no slowdown in accountancy jobs in Ireland - so come and try the emerald isle.
The financial analysts would have you believe we're on the verge of a recession in Europe. There are some industries which have hit a slump, most notably construction, and the credit crunch in the US has had reverberations worldwide. However, there has been no slowdown in the number of jobs in the accountancy and finance industry in Ireland. As James Milligan, Regional Manager at Hays Specialist Recruitment's Accountancy and Finance division explains, there are loads of career opportunities for Australians.
"As the largest specialist recruitment consultancy in Ireland we have been placing Australians in temporary and contract roles for years. Working with the top 100 companies in Ireland and blue chip internationals, we've built a successful placement programme for Australians. In fact a lot of our business comes from referrals from Australians who have returned home and raved about working in Ireland and for Hays. Some even go on to be placed in roles by Hays back in Australia".
Hays Accountancy and Finance recruits worldwide. It has 11 offices in Ireland as well as offices in major locations across Australia and New Zealand and many other countries around the world. Hays recruits for permanent, contract and temporary positions in a range of accountancy and finance roles, from accounts clerks (payroll, accounts payable, credit control, accounts receivable) to newly qualified accountants and up to finance director level. In addition to helping candidates find a job, Hays consultants also give valuable advice on living in Ireland - as James explains:
"We have consultants who have travelled the world and worked in Australia so they can provide advice on moving abroad. They also have tips on how to set up when you arrive, PPS Numbers, finding accommodation, opening a bank account, setting up limited companies and getting involved in the social scene."
Five reasons to move to Ireland:
Great work/life balance
Less formal working environment
Massive candidate shortage so candidates can pick the position they want
Dublin is a great city to use as a base to travel around Europe budget
airlines Ryanair and Aer Lingus are based there and offer competitive flights
The great "craic"
In addition to helping candidates find a job, Hays consultants also give valuable advice on living in Ireland.
