    Cool festivals in England

    Hi

I'm keen to go to some festivals here in England. I've heard of barrel rolling or bog snorkelling, and other random stuff.

Does anyone have any suggestions of interesting/fun/quirky festivals that are worth checking out?

    Thanks heaps

Justy avoid the Notting Hill festival. You might as well go and take part in a riot in Bangladesh.

Avoid the Notting Hill carnaval. It's worse than a riot in Bangladesh.

For Music, check out Hydro Connect Music Festival in Scotland at Inveraray Castle. It's a smaller festival that's not so much for all the teenier boppers just heading there to look good.

An awesome backdrop of Loch Fyne and Inveraray Castle with fantastic local foods (not like usual festivals, here you can get fresh porridge for breakfast and then fresh muscles and oysters for lunch- delicious!!!), it's a amazing weekend away. Much more chilled and relaxed then the bigger festivals. Some acts that have played the last two years- Franz Ferdinand, Beastie Boys, Bjork, M.I.A, Superfurry Animals and more. Probably a highlight of all my music gigs.

Ignore Jannie. the notting hill festival is a must if you've never been before and a great place to experience Carribean culture but you do want to be strategic about how you get there and away as the crowds can be hell.

There's a site that does listings for every UK festival, and you can narrow down the list by month & location.

It lists all the major music festivals, as well as smaller village ones that you might find more interesting.   The site's at: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/

I also think that the notting hill festival is worth it! It can get a little wild, but I would recommend it- it's definetely something to experience
