For those who might not be familiar with Magento, this application is a PHP-powered e-commerce platform that has been the mainstay of many small- to medium-sized London businesses for years.

An open-source framework was able to address many traditional requirements and its flexibility was considered to be impressive for its time. While this article is not meant to disparage Magento in any way, a growing number of organisations are now migrating away from this platform in search of more customised solutions. Organisations can rest assured that their operational concerns will be taken into account from the very beginning. Unlike the rather obtuse support solutions associated with Magento (as well as the relative lack of qualified programmers), Shopify offers dedicated customer support 24 hours a day and seven days a week.  

Another windfall associated with Shopify Plus is that it is entirely based within the cloud. This is important for two reasons. First and foremost, network server issues will no longer be present. Secondly, cloud-based software offers superior levels of redundancy and data security. No future upgrades will be required and the entire system is scalable; ideal if a business needs to add or remove certain elements in order to address operational requirements. 

Magento is still a very popular e-commerce platform. Still, it can somewhat be considered legacy software due to the fact that many of its features have not been capable of meeting the needs of modern businesses. London firms looking for an edge should consider the migration mentioned above.
