Jobs in the online casino and gambling industry have the potential to be both enjoyable and lucrative in equal measures. What’s more, as the British gambling industry continues to grow in terms of size and popularity alike, more job opportunities in casinos and gambling settings exist than ever before.

It’s simply a case of knowing where to focus your efforts, in order to gain that critical foot-in-the-door.

And to say there was plenty of variety on the table (no pun intended) would be something of an understatement. In fact, set your sights broadly on the UK gambling industry and you’ll find there really is something for everyone.

Casino Dealers/Croupiers

For example, working as a casino dealer means assuming a position right on the very front line of where the action takes place. Along with decent enough pay to begin with, dealers often benefit from what can potentially be pretty generous tips and benefits. The application process being less of the usual CV/interview scenario and more of an ‘audition’ to see who’s got what it takes to both succeed and represent the casino as a whole.

Concierge Host

The concierge host has no specific set of responsibilities – they have to know and do it all. Hence, it can be a great position for eventually working your way into senior management. Concierge hosts essentially specialise in providing every visitor with a winning first impression, a fantastic experience and the desire to come back for more. They have to know everything about the casino and its offerings, inside and out, spending most of their time simply liaising with and assisting everyday customers.

Coin Loader

Where the role still exists, coin loaders spend their time either in the cage or in the slots section. As the name suggests, primarily focusing on the mechanics of keeping the slots (and their players) operational. Not to mention, answering any and all questions that may come their way regarding both the slots in the vicinity and the casino in general.

The three examples listed above represent just a small selection of some of the entry-level positions available right now in casinos up and down the country.  The full list of potential career opportunities extending to (but by no means limited to) the following:

  • Black Jack Dealer

  • Bartender

  • Cashier

  • Casino Manager

  • Cocktail Server

  • Customer Service Rep

  • Gaming Dealer

  • Chef/Cook

  • Gaming Manager

  • Security Guard

  • Shuttle Driver

  • Slot Key Personnel

  • Sports Book Writer

  • Surveillance Officer

  • Teller

Online Casino Jobs

As for the online casino industry, some of the most obvious jobs on the cards right now include programmers, technicians, graphic designers, accounts/financial managers and so on. However, the online casino industry is also constantly on the lookout for talent in a variety of other departments.

For example, many casinos now offer full 24-hour customer service support, usually manned by third parties working all over the place. Casinos also typically recruit copywriters, bloggers, marketing managers, SEO experts, external IT support staff and more. Not to mention, those real-life dealers that are becoming less of a rarity with online casinos and more of a new standard.

In a nutshell therefore, the UK casino industry really is well and truly open for business for anyone interested in securing an engaging and rewarding career for life. Once again, it’s simply a case of determining where your own skills and interests lie, in order to ensure they’re put to the best possible use.
