Inspired by dishes of colonial Britain and with an extensive cocktail list, The Jam Tree brings a lively and modern vibe to the heart of Clapham’s Old Town.

The Facts:

With impeccable service, it’s no wonder The Jam Tree is talked about by Clapham’s residents. From its bottomless brunches, unique cocktails and satisfying food, this establishment is a go-to for expats, Londoners and visitors alike, morning and night. Influenced by pop art and modern designs, the spacious and atmospheric restaurant reflects its dinner and cocktail menu. The sharing foods range from platters of hot wings, sticky barbecue ribs or if you’re meat free, a vegetarian sharing board wouldn’t go astray. But whatever you do, do not go past the chicken wings! You’ll be licking your fingers for hours afterwards. If you’re still hungry, there are substantial mains to choose from, including a game pie, marinated hanger steak or goats curd filo roll. These come presented very well, decked out on wooden boards. The taste is impeccable for these dishes and despite your belly feeling full, you’ll be hankering for more. For those wanting a naughty dessert to finish, choose from the restaurant’s signature adult puddings. When you’re in south-west London, why not indulge in the Gin Chocolat, featuring SW4 Gin, chocolate and double cream? Simply mouth-watering. After dinner, take a peek behind the secret bookcase bar which leads you to the garden and outside space. On select nights, the bookcase bar hosts a range of events, from speed dating to art classes.

The Find:

Bespoke cocktails mixed by in-house mixologists. Brave punters can choose the Netflix & Chill signature drink, but be warned, it’s extremely challenging. Served in a large popcorn cup, this is an explosion of vanilla vodka, butterscotch liqueur, caramel and lemon flavours topped with salted popcorn. In keeping with the movie snacks thread, the cocktail list also includes the Wham Bam Thank You Jam – a cocktail of cariel vanilla vodka, Chambord and passoa with raspberry jam, topped with popping candy. For those wanting something lighter, opt for the Watermelon Martini made from real watermelon juice.
