With the temperatures going up and Wimbledon around the corner, it can only mean the start of the British summer music festival season.

With plenty of choices this year from one-day, boutique, pop, grime and rock, London has a lot to offer music fans.

This weekend in East London, why not go to the well established Field Day in Victoria Park on Saturday 3rd June. The event which used to be 2 days has now been put back to one, but still has fantastic array of artists performing.

Aphex Twin, Arab Strap, Joe Goddard, Run The Jewels, Flying Lotus, Death Grips, Julia Jacklin, Loyle Carner, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Rae Morris, Moderat and Slowdive will all feature sets on the day.

The following day, Victoria Park host the ‘new pop extravaganza’ Mighty Hoopla festival. Many familiar faces of pop and celebrity will grace the day.

On the main stage performances come from Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Will Young, 90’s pop act – All Saints before headliners Years and Years finish proceedings.

Elsewhere, Charlotte Church hosts her Late Night Pop Dungeon, whilst the Noisy Kitchen crew of Fearne Cotton and Gok Wan will be DJing during the day.

Meanwhile, up the road, in North London, Camden, the annual Camden Rocks Festival takes place featuring over 250 bands.

With the area steeped in musical history, Camden Rocks has established itself since 2009, now the infamous Camden Crawl no longer runs in the area.

Among the bands featuring around the 25 venues over the day are – Pulled Apart from Horses, Orange Goblin, Carl Barat and the Jackals, Reverend and The Makers, Milburn, The Rifles, The Damned, The Coral and Feeder.

If you don’t mind lots of walking, with beer in hand of course, why not grab a ticket and see some fantastic performances.
