It was only a matter of time, you have to admit.

And with Fifa still debating what, if any, punishment to dish out to Uruguay’s Luis Suarez after he allegedly mistook Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini for dinner, the football-mad mixologists at The Rib Room in London's Knightsbridge have sunk their teeth into a new cocktail idea: The Suarez.

The vodka cocktail, they say, 'gives a real kick' and 'provides more bite for buck than anything on the football field' with ingredients like beef bouillon, Worcestershire sauce and fiery Tabasco.

“As an Italian, I feel it’s time for Italy to bite back!" The Rib Room manager, Michele Caggianese says. "Our feisty Suarez cocktail with its strong flavours has a real sting in its tail. Although this won’t make up for Gli Azzuri getting knocked out of the World Cup, it will provide a real kick to those who try it.”

The cocktail costs £16.
