Get high

Treat yourself and try a higher than normal high tea at the top of Centre Point on New Oxford Street. London’s highest high tea has just launched at the Paramount bar, 32 floors above the city and offering knockout 360-degree views. Along with the usual dinky sandwiches and cream-laden scones, there are nine teas to choose from, or posh it up and sup from a flute of champagne. High tea with leaves is £28, or take it with bubbles for £42.

Pop goes the trend

It was only a matter of time before people got bored of gourmet burgers, dawgs and fried chicken, which we presume is why it’s been deemed necessary to open a popcorn boutique in Notting Hill. POP dusts its corn with exciting flavours including Bloody Mary (hello), peanut butter and jelly and the rather decadent-sounding choc orange and caramel, plus best seller English toffee and sea salt. Flavours change every month so check the website for deets.

Viva Espana

Can’t afford to fly off to sunny Spain this summer? Console yourself at Ibérica La Terraza, which will serve special bespoke Spanish tapas and cocktails al fresco in Canary Wharf from May 8, in an attempt to recreate the terrace culture of Madrid (let’s hope London’s skies don’t piss all over it, then). These guys also serve the Basque version of tapas, pintxos (above), so it’s well worth swinging by for a bite.
