If you're giving up meat for National Vegetarian Week (May 19 - 25), you probably can't imagine finding a substitute for duck and pancakes. But it can be done.

Renowned for their delectable Pan-Asian cuisine, Gilgamesh in Camden has recreated some of the most loved dishes from the a la carte menu with ‘Mock Duck’ for National Vegetarian Week.

Gilgamesh have incorporated this tasty alternative into three of their signature dishes; duck and watermelon salad, a duck spring roll and the old favourite, shredded duck and pancakes.

But what exactly is 'mock duck'? Don't panic; it's made from wheat gluten, and it's very tasty and high in protein. It also imitates the look and texture of shredded duck, so you won't even notice the difference. Who needs meat, anyway?

When: May 19 - 25, 12pm - 12am

Where: Gilgamesh, Camden Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road, London, NW1 8AH
