With plenty of things to do when visiting London, you are truly spoilt for choice. However, for many, a day out in London is an expensive treat. Fortunately, with such a wide range of attractions being completely free to enjoy, your weekend in London doesn’t have to break the bank.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is the ideal place to either spend some time alone to enjoy the peace and quiet or to spend time with friends away from the hustle and bustle of the city. As one of the greatest city parks across the globe spanning more than 350 acres, the chances are that you will completely forget that you are in the centre of London.  There’s much more to hyde park than simply the beautiful surroundings, though. What’s more, with a wide range of exhibits that are both educational and fun, you can enjoy yourself whatever the weather. In addition to this, there are also a number of other museums within the surrounding area that are free to visit providing fun for all the family all year round such as the British Museum and the Imperial War Museum.

Platform 9 ¾, King’s Cross 

Even though King’s Cross is one of the busiest train stations in London, it is a crucial part of the story of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. See where Harry and his fellow wizards get ready to leave for Hogwarts with your own eyes or take a picture by the trolley for the ultimate souvenir.  What’s more, this attraction is completely free and is the perfect place to take your loved ones during the schools holiday for a fantastic yet inexpensive experience. 

Walk along the Southbank 

Not only is Southbank home to some of the most iconic landmarks in London such as the river Thames and the London Eye, it is also home to a great atmosphere that is sure to get you buzzing. Whether you stop to look at some of the market stalls or grab your board and try your hand at skating, you can rest assured that you will find something suitable for the whole family. With a perfect view of the River Thames, you can even spend time people watching and relaxing in the sun.

Spending the day in London doesn’t have to cost you a large amount of money and with plenty of fun activities that you can do for free, you can still have a great time in London without breaking the bank.
