Alternative souvenir range for HRH’s birthday celebrations launches at Beakingham Palace.

In the lead up to The Queen’s first official 90th Birthday celebrations this May, the team behind We Built This City London’s most exciting souvenir shop will be setting up Royal residency at 35 Beak Street (‘Beakingham Palace’) to commemorate 90 years of the UK’s longest reigning monarch.

Kicking off on 5th May, the two week popup residency in the heart of Soho will host a special curation of 90 artist designed alternative souvenirs, limited edition artworks and Queen themed workshops, all celebrating the many sides and varied influences of Elizabeth II’s long and illustrious reign.

Offering Londoners and tourists alike a refreshing and contemporary take on commemorative goods the collection has been curated from a selection of London’s best creative talent and will include street and popart inspired art prints of HRH, as well as alternative gifts and homeware including jelly moulds, plant pots and even cardboard cut-out Corgis

London artists and designers include famed Carnaby muralartist Daisy Emerson, recent Saatchi Gallery resident Rugman, ceramicist Kathy Dalwood, rising star Jenni Sparks, illustrator Ros Shiers and acclaimed artist Paul Thurlby.

“We’re excited to kick off her Majesty’s 90th Birthday celebrations by presenting what we believe to be the most exciting and contemporary royal souvenir collection on offer this summer better still, one that supports local London artists, designers and makers at the same time!” said Alice Mayor, Founder.

Located in Soho, a stone’s throw from The Queen’s Mayfair birthplace, the We Built This City team will be adding their usual creative twist on celebrations during a short break between shops on their home turf of Carnaby Street.

Alice Mayor adds: “After a year of establishing We Built This City as the destination for unique and lasting artist designed London souvenirs on Carnaby, we’re looking forward to a fun fortnight commemorating London’s best known icon of all.”
