Gin sales are booming, gin-bars proliferate across London and gin tastings and distillery tours make a coveted birthday gift. However, with unavoidable whispers that the hallowed juniper berry temporarily under threat we should make the most of the host gin-fuelled events taking place across the capital.

Gin Social: Plymouth Gin | Graphic Bar | Monday 4 April 

For those who enjoying a spot of drinking on a school night, the trendiest gin bar in town, Graphic Bar in Soho will open its doors for an after-school club with a difference. The Original Plymouth Gin will be leading the gin-tasting class and fuelling gin-based discussion; the evening will offer a chance to try this classic gin and delve into its long and fascinating heritage. 

Last Libations | Foraging Origins with Glendalough Distillery | Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings | Monday 11 April 

Throughout the month of April, Bourne & Hollingsworth Group will be running a series of events focusing around the current revival of the ancient, primal art of foraging, in conjunction with Glendalough Distillery. Glendalough Distillery utilise wild botanicals to imbue their gins with the seasonal flavours of the Wicklow landscape of their origin. The evening will be led by Geraldine, the chief forger for Glendalough, who will explain the history, techniques and flavours of the foraged ingredients in their bespoke spirits. Guests are also invited to attend a five-course banquet celebrating foraged ingredients in which each course will be paired with seasonal expressions of gin.

The Graphic Gin Off | Graphic Bar | Monday 18 April 

Graphic Bar in Soho have invited sixteen of their favourite gin brands to compete in THE GRAPHIC GIN OFF 2016. The tournament will showcase incredible brands from all over the globe and will be a gin-soaked, entertaining evening of friendly competition. The first round will see with Plymouth return to Graphic to take on Bols Genever, Copper Head, Whitley Neill to create a signature cocktail. Guests will be able to try an inventive cocktail from each brand and then, after mulling in boozy-contemplation, cast their votes on highly democratic polling cards.
