The most many of us will find with a metal detector is a rusty old Coke can, a few coins and an old button, but one man in New South Wales has unearthed much more - including some important Anzac relics.

Darren Blake got his boys a metal detector for Christmas and in the six months since has unearthed a bounty of artefacts including an Anzac Rising Sun Badge.

“I started shaking because I’ve wanted to find one for ages,” he told The Telegraph. “It was on my birthday too and, being so close to Anzac Day, it was amazing.”

Mr Blake has found everything from grenade parts to wedding rings.
