The young woman, who was initially thought to be homeless, is now thought by police to have been a student or backpacker.

She has been described as being in her late teens or early 20s, was of slim build, 165 tall, and she had an olive complexion.

Police are still trying to determine who she was. Her body was discovered last Friday morning by a passer-by in a rotunda at Kurilpa Park.

The young woman was wearing a selection of rings when she died, including one shaped like a skull, a celtic ring and a gold diamond ring

Police are hoping that someone will come forward to report a colleague or friend missing.

Anyone who recognises the items of jewellery or has any information in relation to this incident should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Dutton Park Police.
