The band were due to perform in Perth on Wednesday night but a message on their promoter's Facebook page has confirmed that the gig has been cancelled.

The message on the Frontier Touring page read: 'Frontier Touring and Concerts West regret to announce that The Rolling Stones concert in Perth will not be going ahead as scheduled for Wednesday 19 March 2014.

'No further information is available at this time, ticket holders are asked to hold on to their tickets until a further update is available.'

L'Wren Scott, who had been Mick Jagger's partner since 2001, died yesterday in Manhattan.

The 49-year-old model's fashion company had been losing millions of pounds over the past couple of years.

The Stones are expected to cancel the rest of their Australian tour but no official statement has been released yet.
