An Aussie university student found herself in a sticky situation when she was caught broadcasting live solo sex shows from the campus library.

The unnamed student got so carried away during her intimate internet performances that staff had to steam clean parts of the Auchmuty library building at the University of Newcastle, in New South Wales.

According to the Newcastle Herald, the explicit online peepshows were promoted on Twitter and linked to a separate pay-per-view site.

A university spokeswoman said the institution had been “very disappointed” to discover that a student was “using internet facilities inappropriately on campus.”

She told Daily Mail Australia: “We have a code of conduct that clearly outlines the sorts of behaviours the university expects from its community on campus.”

But despite her misuse of library facilities the star of the unusual 'self-help' video has avoided having the book thrown at her. “The matter has been investigated and the student has been counselled,” explained the spokeswoman.

The case has highlighted the issue of cash-strapped students resorting to online sex outlets in order to make ends meet. More than 170 Newcastle students were registered at the end of 2013 to a specialist online dating website that matches students with a sugar daddy to fund their education.
