The Australian Defence Force has revealed three Australian special forces soldiers were wounded but survived during an operation against insurgents in the Uruzgan province of Afghanistan at the weekend.

ADF media has released that two of the soldiers who were shot – one in the hand and one in the leg - were flown to Tarin Kowt and were in a satisfactory condition.

The wounded soldiers were to be transported back to Australia for more treatment.

The third soldier’s injuries weren’t detailed, but the ADF says a full recovery is expected.
