It's the Queen B vs. Queensland this week, as a dad from Darra beats Beyonce in the charts.

Shanon Watkins’ single, One by One, got to No. 2 on the US Music Week Top 20 Radio Dance Club Charts last week, taking a spot above Beyonce, Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake.

The regular Queensland bloke is stunned by his success.

Speaking to the Courier Mail, he said: “Going from the pubs and busking, and the next thing you know you get this reaction – it is surreal. It was very unexpected but a total delight.”

He added: “Beyonce is the queen; to get my name next to her is a big deal.”

Due to his recent success, Watkins said he is considering a trip to America later in the year.
