INXS have been approached to tour with a hologram of late singer Michael Hutchence, reports news.com.au

Band member Andrew Farris said he was open to the Hutchence via hologram idea in the future, while INXS band's manager Chris Murphy said it’s a definite possibility too.

''I don't think anything like that is out of the question. You can't take any modern technology out of the question, including whether a hologram of Michael could happen. Something like that is not out of the question one day." said Murphy

The rather ghoulish hologram concert concept came to the world’s attention when the deceased rapper 2Pac materialised with Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre at US music festival Coachella.

Since Hutchence's death in 1997 INXS have utilised vocalists including Terence Trent D'Arby and Kiwi singer Jon Stevens, and are now recording a new album with Irish singer/songwriter Ciarin Gribbin.

Murphy said the band receive countless offers relating to Hutchence, but usually turn them down.

''They get approached about doing movies all the time, but the band are very protective of how Michael is portrayed. They have never exploited Michael. Michael wasn't a band member, he was like family,'' Murphy said.

A 25th anniversary of INXS’s million-selling album Kickis released tomorrow. It contains unreleased audio and video footage of Hutchence.
