Astonished music fans were shocked to see Jay-Z riding the Tube to his own show at The O2 on Saturday night.
The international rap star was seen waiting for a Tube at Waterloo Underground station before he and an entourage that included support act Timbaland and Coldplay’s Chris Martin boarded a train headed to North Greenwich for The O2 where Jay-Z was playing.
“What a riot... Just met Jay z on the tune in London,” tweeted Jamie Robb, who also posted pics of the star online.
Jay-Z and his ten-strong entourage joked and chatted with excited fans who could not believe luck when the New York megastar decided to take public transport to his own show.
Jay-Z was in town on his Magna Carter world tour, which stopped in at The O2 last Thursday through to Saturday and which has one final show this evening before heading to Paris.
It is not the first time the multi-millionaire has been spotted taking a less than glamorous mode of transport to one of his shows – only last year he was spotted on the New York subway on the way to a show in Brooklyn.
