Emma Allen, who lives in Elephant and Castle, painted her head and arms with gold paint in front of a mirror at home to achieve the ultimate 'World Cup Selfie'.
The stunt, which took over two and a half hours, involved Ms Allen leaning against a black pillow and painting details on her arms, neck and face, including two green bands on her arms. She also donned a bald cap and painted her arms below the elbow black.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, she explained her motives: "I just had a good feeling it would work. I’m not the biggest football fan, I just wanted to give it a go," she said.
“The hardest thing was getting my arms and hands in the right position. I took a lot of pictures before settling on the final one.”
The artwork has even attracted the atention of football celebs, with Ian Wright labelling it 'awesome'. High praise indeed.
