A two-year-old boy had his collarbone broken during a racially-motivated attack on his mother. It is believed she was targeted for having a mixed-race child.

The incident took place at Walthamstow Central train station last Sunday.

The child was in his pushchair when the attack started.

“She was assaulted by the man, who pulled her hair, dragging her to the ground along with the pushchair. The man then made off from the scene,” Detective Constable Gerry Hughes said of the incident.

The mother, who is black, was also racially abused by her attacker, who was also black.

“This was an unspeakable attack on a mother and son, and we are determined to find the man responsible,” Detective Constable Gerry Hughes said of the incident.”
