Unless they're being sold with a portion of fish, chips won't be served at the Olympics due to the McDonald's sponsorship deal according to a leaked memo that's emerged on Twitter.

"Due to sposorship obligations with McDonalds, LOCOG [London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games] have instructed the Catering team that they are no longer able to serve chips on their own anywhere within the Olympic Park. The only loop hole to this is if it is served with fish" reads the memo.

Could it be true? If so our hungry foreign visitors could be missing out on a deep friend spud treat.
