Usain Bolt will race fellow Jamaican Olympic athlete Yohan Bolt in tomorrow’s London 2012 200m final, a showdown the public will be on the edge of their seats for.
Fastest man in the world, Bolt, and second fastest man, Blake, are friends and train together in Jamaica. However friendship won’t come into it when the two go for gold in tomorrow’s Olympic race.
After powering past the finish line in first place in the 200m semi-final this evening, crossing the finish line in 20.18, a supremely confident Bolt told the BBC there is no question who will take gold tomorrow.
“Do doubt whatsoever,” he said. “This is my favourite event.”
Blake too won his race in the London 2012 stadium tonight, pulling up in a time of 20.01, faster in fact that Bolt. But the naughty watch wearing athlete has made no secret of his doubt over winning tomorrow’s final against his compatriot.
“I’m not really focusing on beating him [Usain Bolt],” said Blake. “I’m concentrating on running my race. My plan is just to execute.”
We’ll be watching.
