“I came in here slightly self-important but after a few days, I found myself. I’m not like that now.” said the MP, who was suspended from the Conservative party for going onto the show and not informing her superiors of her decision.
In defence of her appearance on the national TV show filmed in the jungles of Australia, Dorries said "I think it is important that MPs realise that you need to go where the public go. But as the Michael Hogan of the Telegraph put it "Nadine Dorries lasted 12 days, won very few friends and changed nobody’s mind about any issues."
During her time in the jungle, Dorries ate ostrich anus and lamb's testicle as part of the show's infamous Bushtucker Trials. "I would never have thought I would eat any of those things in a million years." she told hosts Ant and Dec.
