ITV weather presenter Fred Talbot has had his home raided as part of an investigation into claims of sexual abuse.
Talbot, known for presenting on the floating map of the British Isles and his colourful jumpers, taught at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys during the 1970s.
Talbot is not currently in the UK, he’s sailing across the Atlantic Ocean and claims he does knows nothing about the allegations or why his home in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, was searched.
Talbot told his Twitter followers, on December 10, that he was sailing for six days after leaving Madeira.
Talbot taught biology at the school before moving to TV in the 1980s.
The Greater Manchester Police said to the Daily Mail: “The offences under investigation didn’t occur within school grounds but allegedly involved a member of staff.”
