Rapper George Watsky has been taken to hospital in a neck brace after he lept 30ft off rigging at a show in London into the crowd only for the crowd to scatter.

The American rapper had been playing a show at north London’s Alexandra Palace last weekend as part of the travelling Vans Warped Tour when he asked the crowd “Have you got my back?”

During his set he then proceeded to climb up a piece of rigging and then leapt from it into the crowd. Only the crowd parted and he landed on the concrete floor, crashing into a male and female gig-goer in the process.

Watsky sustained head injuries and the male fan back injuries, with the female fan sustaining a broken arm in the incident too.

Watsky though has apologised for his actions which he has attributed to the heat of the moment.

“I have no excuse for me actions, and the only way I can explain my mindset is that it was a huge overreach in the heat of the moment,” he said on Facebook, adding: “No, I was not drunk or on drugs.”

He subsequently visited the female fan in hospital.
