Director Christopher Nolan and his special effects team explain how they filmed the spectacular sequence in The Dark Knight Rises in which Bane blows up a football field mid-match.
The famed filmmaker has spoken before his desire to keep in camera effects as much a part of his films as possible, this sequence in The Dark Knight Rises combines CG-special effects, physical effects and some stunning stunt work to make on the most stunning scenes in one of this year’s most stunning movies.
With large raised turf, holes dug into the ground for stunt performers to fall into, and months of CG tweaking, too, it is a masterclass of preparation and execution.
The Dark Knight Rises is out on DVD December 4 through Warner Bros Home Entertainment.
