Ireland took only their 3rd grand slam in their 6 nations history, as they dominated England at Twickenham to pile more misery on Eddie Jones’ team.

The 24-15 win for Ireland see most of the damage done in the first half, as Garry Ringrose, CJ Stander and Jacob Stockdale compensated for the sin bin of Peter O’Mahony.

England, who made a better fight of it in the second half, with Elliot Daly going over twice and Jonny May, will not have made it a pleasant viewing for England fans, who watch their side lose to Scotland and France, and finished 5th in the table for the first time in the teams 6 nations history.

Eddie Jones, who now has to recharge the squad ahead of the summer tour of South Africa commended Joe Schmidt’s team over the championships.

“They are a tough team, very worthy grand slam champions and they’ve performed extremely well today.”

Wales finished runners-up whilst Italy took the wooden spoon.
