A Welsh football supporter was attacked and died shortly before last nights England v Wales match at Wembley.

Mikey Dyer, a Cardiff City fan, was taken to hospital with head injuries. Doctors were unable to revive him following a heart attack.

The incident happened when a fight broke out with other Welsh fans. Members of the notorious Soul Crew were alledgedly involved, according to sources on supporters web forums.

A Met police spokesman said ‘Police were called at approximately 7.20pm on Tuesday, 6 September, to an area outside Wembley Stadium following reports of an assault. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. A man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was taken to a north London hospital suffering from head injuries. He was pronounced dead at 8.50pm.'

Six people have been arrested. The case is being treated as a murder inquiry.
