Despite Man City claiming to be the true team of Manchester, a new poll reveals that Manchester United have more fans in the Lancashire city than their blue rivals.
A whopping 55% of Mancunians follow the Reds, with only 14.8% getting behind Mancini’s men, according to a new poll revealed by The Sun.
Man Utd fans though have, on average, the furthest to travel to attend a home game, with fans living on average 95 miles away from Old Trafford.
This is not the furthest average distance though for home fans to travel, with Newcastle fans living 97 miles away from St James park and Liverpool fans 100 miles away from Anfield.
At the other tend of the table, Wigan fans live the closest to the ground, the average distance travelled to home games being 18 miles, closely followed by Reading, whose fans travel an average of 30 miles.
The poll was conducted by Rightmove property website.
