Exeter Chiefs came from behind to seal a famous Premiership title win over Wasps in a thrilling finale to the season.

The 23-20 final win after extra time, was finally determined when Gareth Steenson who had kicked to level at 20-20 to take us into extra time before kicking again to give his side victory by 3 points.

Wasps, who last won the title back in 2008, fought back from a half-time deficit to lead into the second half with Jimmy Gopperth and Elliot Daly tries, which looked like sealing them the title, before Steenson took over and stole the show.

The Devon side, who’s first cup was the Anglo-Welsh 3 seasons ago, went one step further than they did last season, when losing to Saracens at Rugby headquarters.

Exeter coach, Rob Baxter told the BBC after “I’ve never once woken up feeling it’s a dream because the people who have lived and breathed it every day know how hard we’ve worked and they know the sacrifices that have been made.”

Wasps head coach Dai Young said to the BBC “I’m trying not to be too disappointed because I think we’ve had a fantastic season and we showed some real qualities.”

The following day England warmed up for their Argentine summer tour with a 28-14 win over Barbarians at Twickenham.
