Yes it's a new iPad. And this one's got a bit more memory space! Clammy-pawed Apple fans, be still your beating hearts.

The latest incarnation of the fourth generation super-portable internet browsing contraption doubles the current capacity for storage, so users can squeeze in slightly more photos, films and music.

Apple's senior vice president Philip Sciller said that “with twice the storage capacity" people had all the more reason to ditch those poor neglected dust-covered clunky home computers - albeit those with a fairly hefty chunk of disposable income.

“With more than 120 million iPads sold, it’s clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and every day they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs.” said Sciller in a statement on Apple's website.

The new model with cellular and Wi-Fi connections will cost a cool £739. Other than doubling the storage capacity from 64GB, there are no other changes. Apple's iPad is also available with a smaller 16GB storage capacity.
