Was it a Freudian slip? Does Nick Clegg really think that every unemployed 18 to 24-year-olds in the UK is a c-word? Or did the deputy Prime Minister just get a little tongue-tied?

It seems unlikely, given that the interview in which he made the gaffe was one to announce an initiative to give young unemployed people a chance to get further training or paid work.

Call us massive spoilsports, but we reckon it might have something to do with the fact that the word 'country' was coming up in the sentence.
