Criminal lawyer by day, but pop star by night and at the weekends, Aussie Londoner Bowie Jane keeps herself busy leading a double life.

Originally from Melbourne, Jane, 27, uses a stage name and keeps her musical career a secret from her colleagues in the legal profession - until now.

"I keep my pop music very separate and only a few very close friends know how I spend my evenings," she told the Daily Mail.

"Law is a male-dominated industry and very conservative and I’m worried that people wouldn’t take me seriously if they found out. It shouldn’t matter, but it does."

Jane performs regularly in London and throughout the UK, up to five or six nights a week, with both full-on pop gigs alongside more laid-back acoustic shows. She performed at last summer's Homelanz festival in London, which showcases southern hemisphere bands and performers, and is appearing once again this year.

"I learnt classical piano for seven years and. I've been song-writing ever since - telling my story by performing my songs. I've basically grown up on stage!" said Jane, who's been working as a criminal lawyer in London for four years.

She regularly performs to audiences of thousands, sometimes even wearing her stage outfits concealed under her robes - and admitted it can sometimes cause bewilderment.

"I’m living two lives at once, by day one person and by night another, and sometimes it can get rather confusing," Jane confessed.

Bowie Jane's debut single Luv Bomb was released in the UK this month.
