David Cameron has resigned as Prime Minister, after Britain votes to leave the European Union.

In the early hours of this morning, unexpected results started to come in, in favour of Brexit.

By 6am the leave campaign had secured a winning 52 per cent of the vote.

Scotland's majority backed staying in the Union, while the Welsh leaned towards leave.

Cameron announced outside 10 Downing Street plans for his resignation.

Statements are expected to be made by Sinn Fein and the SNP later today calling for a break from the Union.

How do you think Brexit will effect you?
