A Brisbane woman bought what she thought was two Apple iPhones online, only to get a box of actual apples instead.
The 21-year old woman placed an ad on Gumtree saying she was looking to buy some iPhones. Another woman responded and the two met up, the buyer paying $1500 for two iPhone boxes that looked fairly new. Her error though was not looking inside.
When she returned home and opened the boxes she discovered that they did contain apples, but the fruit rather than the mobile phone.
“If something sems too good to be true, it probably is,” said Senior Constable Jess Hopkin from the Upper Mt Gravatt Crime Prevention Unit.
