On Halloween kids were given cocaine during trick or treating in Royton.

Luckily the kids did not consume the drugs, but the police were called after the parents found the suspicious-looking powder in their children’s trick or treat bags.

A 23-year-old man gave the children the bags of cocaine; it’s believed that they got mixed up with his trick or treat sweets.
The man who lived on Mendip Close was arrested for possession of class A drugs and is due in Oldham today.

The police acted quickly, it’s thought this was a one off incident that wasn’t intended to cause harm.

Catherine Hankinson, Police Superintendent, said to the Mirror newspaper: “The parents and police acted quickly when this report was made, in the interests of public safety.

“We understand this to be an isolated incident.”
