Internet sensation and scourge of deer everywhere, Fenton the dog could be renamed by his owner if the fuss over his Richmond Park antics doesn’t die down.

Fenton and owner Max shot to fame last week after Fenton was filmed forcing a herd of deer through a road in south west London’s Richmond Park, his owner giving chase while yelling out his illustrious pet’s name.

The footage of Fenton’s herding endeavours has become a youtube sensation, and a warning has been issued reminding dog owners they could face prosecution for failing to control their pets.

A friend of the family and the father of two has said: “Max is mortified. Fenton’s a lively dog but he’d never done anything like this before.

“Max won’t be taking him back to Richmond Park anytime soon and is considering giving him a new name if the fuss goes on.”

The incident has already sparked a raft of online spoofs, the pick of the bunch being Fenton In London, riffing on horror classic An American Werewolf in London, and a Jurassic Park-themed video with Fenton chasing a herd of dino-beasts.
