During a world record attempt to cross a river on a zip-wire using only his hair, Sailendra Nath Roy suffered a cardiac arrest.
The 50-year-old stuntman half way through the flight across the Teesta River, in Darjeeling when his ponytail became stuck in the wheeler of the rope.
He was left hanging in mid-air for about 25 minutes, reports the Daily Mail, trying to free himself.
Roy then suffered a major cardiac arrest and died, watched by hundreds of horrified onlookers who had come to watch the stunt.
