Dereck Chisora has been slapped with a £30,000 fine after he slapped Vitali Klitschko at the weigh-in ahead of their heavyweight title in Munich tonight.

Chisora, wearing a bandanna over his face, slapped Klitschko during the traditional square-up for the photographers after the weigh-in.

Klitschko kept his cool throughout the incident, and may even have scored psychological points over Chisora, who replays reveal, flinched hilariously when the Ukrainian fighter touched Chisora's arm following the slap.

"Brave," is the most positive adjective pundits have applied to Chisora following the incident, with many opting instead for "daft".

Chisora, who has admitted that he hasn't got the power to stop the 1/12 on favourite, has claimed he would out-work Klitschko in the ring.

David Haye's former coach, Adam Booth told the BBC, that with the slap Chisora had blown his only chance of a surprise upset.

"The last thing you want to do is pick a fight with Vitali," said Booth. "That was foolish."

The WBC are set to fine Chisora £30,000 for the slap.

WBC president, Jose Sulaiman, said: "Boxing, even though it is violent, is a sport of gentlemen and fair play. The WBC has decided to fine Chisora for not complying with the fair play that is required in all sports."

40-year-old Klitschko hasn't lost in the ring since a bad cut halted his fight with Lennox Lewis in 2003, while Chisora has tasted defeat twice in his last three fights.
