Two people have been killed and up to 20 people injured, in an explosion on a ferry carrying 35 tourists between Bali and Lombok.

The injured passengers included nationals from Australia, Britain, Portugal, Germany and South Korea, according to the police.

The Gili Cat 2 speedboat was ferrying 35 foreign tourists, and four crew members.

An investigation is underway, but police have said it was not caused by a bomb.
