US news network CNN proved they are just as clueless about global geography as the stereotypical US citizen when they failed to locate London correctly on a map of the UK on Sunday.

London is a global city, one of the most well know in the world, yet this didn’t stop one hapless CNN employee from locating the Big Smoke in Norfolk.

A map was shown on the screen to illustrate where the phone hacking scandal was centred, but rather than positioning the city in its rightful place, on the Thames, it was located 120 miles away.

There are plenty of jokes about Americans and how they have little clue where anywhere else is in the rest of the world, however you would not expect this sort of geographical illiteracy from one of that country’s largest news channels.

Red faces no doubt abounded on Sunday night at CNN when Twitter was lit up with the error. Reports that a workie has been unceremoniously fired remain unconfirmed though.
