For the two-metre-long crocodile, it was a bit of a mouthful.
But this reptile wasn’t giving up as it swallowed a croc half its size.
The rare moment was captured by a far north Queensland tour guide near the Daintree River, Cairns.
“He was having a bit of trouble getting it down his throat,” David White of river boat tour company Solar Whisper said.
“I’m not sure if he ate it or not, but I think he did because the next week he did a lot of sunbaking with a big belly.”
He says crocodiles will often eat their own kind, including their offspring, but it’s rare to see it happen.
