Man who acused Elmo actor of teen sex recants his allegation

This story is brought to you by the letter R, for recant, renounce and renege, after the man who accused the voice of Sesame Street fave Elmo, Kevin Clash, of engaging in a sexual relationship when he wasn’t of age withdrew his allegation.
The anonymous accuser released a statement through his lawyers, saying the relationship was actually consensual and after he turned 18, which Clash had said from the outset.
"[The anonymous accuser] wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship. He will have no further comment on the matter," the statement published by New York Times read.
Clash had his own statement: "I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further."
