After a bit of overnight needle, the weather threatened to dampen spirits on day three of the final Test.

And so it proved to be with the day's play abandoned at 4.10pm with not a single ball bowled.

Whilst it looks likely that there will be a full day's play on Sunday, the first washout of the series appears to have made a result in this match unlikely, with England yet to even finish their first innings.

England were criticised from all quarters for their at times pathetic scoring rate, with many suggesting that it look as if Alastair Cook's men were playing for the draw.
